At 17:48 on 12 August 2026, the shadow hits Reykjavik for roughly one minute. The last time this happened here, Iceland was still a Danish-Norwegian colony in the making and Columbus hadn't been born. I spent nine days in August 2025 driving the same roads I'll be driving next summer, timing the escape routes and arguing with a farmer about parking.
