Journey through Vietnam diverse landscapes and flavors.

One week in Vietnam covers the country's incredible diversity - from Hanoi's ancient quarter to Saigon's frenetic energy, with magical Hoi An and spectacular Ha Long Bay in between. This itinerary balances must-sees with authentic experiences.

Days 1-2: Hanoi

Day 1

Arrive in Vietnam's capital. Explore the Old Quarter's 36 streets, each named after the guild that once occupied it. Wander through the chaos of motorbikes, street vendors, and ancient shop-houses. Evening street food tour: pho, bun cha, and egg coffee.

Day 2

Morning at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex (closed Mondays and Fridays) and One Pillar Pagoda. Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university, offers peaceful courtyards. Afternoon around Hoan Kiem Lake, the city's spiritual heart, ending with water puppet theater.

Day 3: Ha Long Bay

Full-day or overnight cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage bay. Thousands of limestone karsts rise from emerald waters. Kayaking through grottoes, floating villages, and sunset dinner aboard. Overnight cruises offer the full experience; day trips work for tight schedules.

Days 4-5: Hoi An

Day 4

Fly to Da Nang, transfer to Hoi An (30 minutes). This ancient trading port charms with lantern-lit streets, tailors offering custom clothing, and beautifully preserved architecture. Evening: the full moon lantern festival creates magical atmosphere.

Day 5

Morning cooking class or bicycle ride through rice paddies to nearby beaches. The Japanese Bridge, assembly halls, and ancient houses warrant exploration. Afternoon: beach time at An Bang or tailor fittings. Many shops deliver finished garments within 24 hours.

Days 6-7: Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Day 6

Fly south to Saigon. War Remnants Museum and Independence Palace provide powerful historical context. Notre-Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office showcase French colonial architecture. Ben Thanh Market for shopping and food stalls.

Day 7

Day trip to Cu Chi Tunnels for unforgettable insight into Vietnam War history. Return via Mekong Delta villages (if time allows) or explore Saigon's hipster neighborhoods and rooftop bars. Final street food feast in District 1.
